The skills shortage\u00a0is well documented; however, the pursuit of efficiency in hiring\u00a0might be pushing away the very people you want to attract!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><b>Computer says NO<\/b><\/strong>!<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A \u00a0good friend of mine, (for privacy I am using the name \u201cSarah\u201d) told me she recently applied for a senior marketing role\u00a0and was extremely excited about the opportunity. It was just what she was looking for.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As part of the\u00a0recruitment process, she was invited to complete an online assessment. To her surprise, the assessment wasn\u2019t like a traditional psychometric test\u00a0that she had done before, but an AI-powered game.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It felt strange and disconnected. Sarah told me she was put off by it and was thinking <em><i>\u201cSo we\u2019ve come to this!<\/i><\/em><em><i>\u00a0A<\/i><\/em><em><i>n algorithm is going to decide if I\u2019m a good marketer?<\/i><\/em><em><i>\u201d<\/i><\/em><em><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/em>She even questioned if a real person was going to look at her application? \u00a0This feeling of being judged by a machine, without a human connection, made her feel uneasy and question if she wanted to work for that company.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This story isn&#8217;t unique.
